'RESOURCES AS A MAPPING MOBY-DICK IN LOCAST'

As a part of an open Locast initiative, Melville project uses Locast as a digital mapping tool to create geo-graphical world of Moby-Dick (a novel by Herman Melville), annotating the content by users related to geo-located narratives selected from the novel.   The project explores digital mapping, literacy learning and annotation aspects.  The distribution of mapping media content (texts, comments, videos and images) over a geo-location map influences and impacts the understanding of the book Moby-Dick providing imagination and inspiration to expand the content of the setting where the narrative has evolved. A user study has been conducted through a focus group and questionnaires.
